Ariel Orozco

I'm Ariel Orozco, a senior backend engineer in Costa Rica. I've built software professionally since 2007: PHP for eighteen years, Laravel for thirteen, Go in production since 2017, and Python more recently.

Most of my work is backend systems that move money or something close to it: loyalty-currency transactions for a platform behind major airline and hotel programs, payment orchestration in a PCI DSS environment, and a high-traffic point-of-sale platform whose PHP monolith I helped move to Go microservices.

This blog is where I write about the decisions behind that work: architecture, system design, and the code that makes them real.

I also take on independent Laravel and Go work.
